STORY
One of our favorites, the timeless natural canvas Foundation.
Crafted in lightweight and tough 100% cotton 8 oz. Canvas, the Foundation Pant is designed with comfort and durability in mind - as well as all-around versatility. This color-fast fabric is breathable and soft, it just gets better over time. Great for warmer climates and a nice alternative to our 12oz classic.
PROCESS
This pant is sewn at a small family-owned factory in San Francisco who has been making jeans and workwear for over 35 years. Each garment moves through at least 10 hand operated sewing machines. After sewing, the pant is sent to a separate washing and finishing facility in Los Angeles where enzymes and softeners are used to reduce shrinkage and add character. The Foundation then goes through an inspection process to make sure it meets our quality standards with the goal of exceeding your expectations. The more you wear this one the better it gets.

Less going on means less can go wrong. If the foundation of your wardrobe is a pair of simple, durable pants it's one less thing to worry about.
To make a perfectly well rounded product we use only the highest-quality materials from the best fabric mills in the world to create versatile, effortless garments that get better with every wear.

We also know that it's very rare to come across any garment from years past that doesn't look out of place today. We think about this a lot during the design process and go to great lengths to make sure that all of our products are produced using time-tested techniques but simple, timeless qualities.
The foundation pant is the flagship of the grown and sewn canvas collection. It's the same pant we designed when we first started the company and wanted to make the perfect blend between khaki and denim.
