I’ve been more or less bald since my late teens, early twenties — so, as you can imagine, I’ve been wearing hats for a long time. Working in the apparel industry for a good chunk of my life, I’ve had access to just about every type of hat you could imagine. So to say I’ve owned (and worn) over 500 hats wouldn’t sound crazy to me.
Of course, my style of choice has always been the humble ballcap — and I’ll admit, I’ve become a bit of a connoisseur. When it came time to develop hats for Grown & Sewn, I knew we had to make the kind I’d want to wear every single day. Just like the rest of what we make, they had to be sturdy, versatile, and uniquely simple.
